Maxine Teel

Clara Maxine Teel passed away at home in Louisville KY, surrounded by family, on October 2nd, 2018. She was born Clara Maxine Yeager on October 22, 1929 In Gardendale Alabama, a suburb of Birmingham Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer Theo and Pearl Viola (Hart) Yeager, and her oldest son, David Lester Teel.

She is survived by her husband, of sixty-seven years, Dr. James Howard Teel, four children, Becky Teel of Louisville KY, Dr. Kathy Zimmerman (Michael) of Nashville TN, Marcia Daoud (Edward) of Rockville, MD and Stephen Teel of Germantown, MD; four grandchildren, Chelsea Newhall of Washington D.C., Dr. Matthew Zimmerman (Dr. Amanda Zimmerman) of Mt. Juliet TN, Timothy Zimmerman of Chattanooga TN, and Mark Daoud of Rockville MD. She is also survived by her sister, Pat Rutherford (Dempsey, deceased) of Florence AL and niece Amy (Ron) and children, Will, Anna Claire and Jacob.

She attended the University of Alabama, Howard College, Southeastern Louisiana College and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She lived and worked in several countries including Bangladesh, India, Thailand, Philippines, Nigeria, Haiti and Kuwait. She will be remembered for her smile but mostly as a loving wife and mother.

Her memorial service will be held at Highland Baptist Church (1101 Cherokee Rd, Louisville, KY 40204) on October 21st at 3pm. Visitation will be held at 2pm.
