

Charles George Wise III passed away on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025, at his home in Georgetown. Charles was born September 25, 1955, in Lexington KY, and grew up in the thoroughbred horse community in Kentucky and Florida. Charles had an easy and confident way with horses, and following in his father's footsteps, he made his career in the thoroughbred world in Kentucky, Florida and New York until he retired in Georgetown. He was as easy-going with people as he was with horses and made many friends wherever he went. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of thoroughbred racing and horses and was a talented artist and cartoonist. He was predeceased by his parents C.G. Wise, Jr. and Judith Wise. He is survived by his daughter Lesley Wise and grandson Luke Hampton of Lexington, KY, stepmother Kriston Wise of Haughton, LA, brothers Scot (Beth) of Charlotte NC, Jason (Steven) of Sun City, FL, Alexander (Erika) of Ludowici, GA, and sister Cameron Geraci (Gary) of Coral Springs, Fl, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM, Saturday, October 11th, at the Pavilion at Slainte Public House in Georgetown, Kentucky.
