Chuck was the son of Marguerite and Samuel Griffin of Boise, Idaho. He spent his youth in Boise and then attended the University of Idaho, receiving a B.A. in history and a Juris Doctor degree in law. After a short time in the army, he spent his career as an outstanding attorney at Phillips Petroleum, most of it in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Chuck was an avid golfer, hiker, and snow skiier. He also enjoyed playing piano and the harmonica, as well as travelling around the world. After retiring from Phillips, he lived in McCall, Idaho and Sedona, Arizona. A devoted father and husband, Chuck is predeceased by his first wife, Patricia A. Griffin, and his grandson, Luke Haig Griffin. He is survived by his wife, Dawn Griffin; his sons, Brad (Julia Slayton) and Randall (Carol); his daughter, Marguerite Esrock (Stuart); his step-sons, Kevin (Joyce) and James (Adrianne) Anderson; and his grandchildren, Hannah and Drew Esrock. He will be greatly missed.
His memorial service will be held at Saint Luke's Episcopal Church (210 East 9th Street, Bartlesville, Oklahoma) at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, August 4th. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
