Betty Polak

Polak, Betty entered into eternal rest on June 13, 2018. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a nurse for 33 years and was passionate about her ability to care for others. Betty attended Okolona Christian Church, was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, and Auxiliary Fire Department of Dunnellon, Florida. She enjoyed singing, sewing, collecting bells, and Betty Boop items. She never met a baby she didn't love and made it a point to show it.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Abraham “Allen” Polak; grandson, Joey Carbone; parents, Samuel and Alice Davis; and siblings, Carolyn, Alice, Barbara, David, and Richard.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Diane Herrera (Timothy), Sharon Stewart (Bryan), and Gloria Alverio; stepdaughters, Sharon Laracuente (Angel), Laura Carbone, and Celia Polak; grandchildren, James, Victoria (Jon), Alicia (Mike), Joseph, Caleb, Bianca, Isaiah, Dominic, Lisa, David, Christina, Frankie, Rickie, Angel, Kelly, Christina , and Amanda; great grandchildren, Ariana, Erin, Anamaria, April, Trevor, Madison, Allison, Shawn, Gavin, Kylie, Adelyn, Angel, Toriana, Julie, Johnny, Mikey, Joey, Gabby, and Jaden.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 21 at 10:00am at Okolona Christian Church, 10801 Faithful Way, Louisville, KY 40229. The Neptune Society of Kentucky was awarded the honor of performing Betty’s cremation.

The family will do a scattering of Betty and Allen's ashes at sunset later the same day at the Natural Bridge State Park, located at 2135 Natural Bridge Rd, Slade, KY 40376. The family wishes to invite you to attend. You may hike up to the natural bridge or you may pay $15 to ride the lift.
