Charlene Jeanette Teed of Kansas City died January 15, 2025 at the age of 82 years. Charlene was born November 4, 1942 in Boone, Iowa to Patricia Hampton and Edward Pulver. She married Edward Teed on December 21, 1957 and they were blessed with three children, nine grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
She earned her nursing degree in 1976 from Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa. She held certificates in Gerontology from DMACC in Ankeny, Iowa, and Oncology from Tri-City Medical Center. In 2008, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and in 2010 a Masters degree in Business Leadership from William Penn College in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Her nursing career spanned forty years. Char worked for Telligen of West Des Moines, Iowa as a nurse in many capacities. She was a former Director of Nursing at Sunnyview in Ankeny, Iowa and hospice and homecare nurse for Tri-City Medical Center in Vista, California.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, sister Joyce Johnson of Boone, Iowa, brother Francis Mitchels of Boone, Iowa, her parents, grandparents, significant other Leland Teed, son Kerri Teed and granddaughter Kendra Teed Isola.
She is survived by daughter Vicki Teed Garrett and husband Randall who reside in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, son Jerri and wife Dorrie Teed who reside in Parkville, Missouri, and brother John Pulver and wife Hope who reside in Iowa. As well as grandchildren; Kristi Teed Miller and husband George of Carlsbad, California, Amanda Teed Champion of Broomfield, Colorado, Cassandra Teed Cope and husband Brad of Kansas City, Missouri, Megan Garrett Mills and husband Shaun of Omaha, Nebraska, Emily Teed Kelly and husband Jon of Chesterton, Indiana, Joshua Garrett and wife Stephaine of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Sarah Garrett Spencer of Neosho, Missouri, and Whitney Teed Rodgers and husband Erik of Newton, Iowa. And great-grandchildren; Andrea Forman, Damien Rodgers, Carson Stickrod, Caden Mills, Blaine Rodgers, Abigail Spencer, Keaton Mills, Collin Cope, Dalton Gau, Olivia Spencer, Kaleb Rodgers, Courtland Champion, Lainey Mills, Carter Miller, Charlotte Kelly, Blakely Champion, Campbell Kelly, Leo Mills, Adeline Cope, Ariella Garrett, Chloe Kelly, Ava Cope, and Obadiah Garrett.
Char enjoyed writing, painting, and was an avid sports fan, enjoying her beloved Iowa Hawkeyes, the LA Dodgers, and the Chicago Cubs. Most of all she delighted in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, watching them learn, grow, and succeed in life.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
