Sharon Irene Davis, beloved mother, grandmother, partner, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025, in Friendswood, Texas, at the age of 83. She was born on July 12, 1942, in Jefferson, Texas, to Hazel Custis Hathaway and Joseph Hermie Hathaway II.
Sharon’s family later moved to Galena Park, where she graduated from Galena Park High School in 1960. She married Marshall Henry Davis in 1963, and together they made their home in Pasadena, Texas. In 1979, they moved their family to Friendswood, where Sharon would spend the next 51 years building a warm, welcoming, and love-filled home.
After her divorce in 1992, Sharon met Marty King, with whom she shared more than three decades of love, laughter, and adventure. Sharon and Marty found great joy in aviation and traveling together. She loved flying with Marty in his plane, participating in the Southwest Bonanza Society, and attending “fly-ins” across the country. Their weekend trips exploring Texas and neighboring states—and especially their cherished annual getaway to Oshkosh, Wisconsin—brought her immense happiness.
Sharon was a gifted hostess who made entertaining look effortless. She loved bringing people together and hosted many gatherings, including neighborhood crawfish boils that were always filled with laughter, great food, and lasting friendships.
Deeply involved in her community, Sharon served as Cline PTO President from 1989 to 1991. She later became President of the Friendswood “Friends of the Library” from 2002 to 2012, where she led efforts to support the library’s mission to engage, educate, entertain, and empower the community. Sharon was known for her vibrant spirit, warm personality, and ability to make everyone around her feel welcome. She treasured time spent with friends—playing Bunco, dominoes, or cards—and she was often the life of the party.
Some of her favorite memories were made at her Lake LBJ lake house, where she enjoyed relaxing, entertaining, and creating special moments with family and friends. Her love of nature led her to earn her Master Gardener certification, and she spent countless joyful hours planting and tending to her beautiful garden.
Though she often joked that she didn’t enjoy cooking, Sharon was, in fact, a wonderful cook. Her broccoli cheese rice casserole, banana pudding, and chocolate pie became treasured family traditions—recipes that will continue to be made with love and remembered with smiles.
Above all else, Sharon loved the Lord. Her faith was the foundation of her life. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose heart overflowed with pride and affection for her family. She was a longtime member of Friendswood Methodist Church for over 50 years and attended many Bible study series that strengthened her walk with Christ.
Sharon’s legacy lives on through those she cherished most: her son Brett Anthony Davis and his wife Michelle, and their children Austin, Autumn, and Brooke Davis; her son Blake Henry Davis and his son Mickey Davis; and her devoted partner of over 30 years, Marty King, who remained faithfully by her side until the very end.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hazel Custis Hathaway and Joseph Hermie Hathaway II; her brother, Joseph “Joe” Hermie Hathaway III; and her beloved infant daughter, Danielle Marie Davis.
Sharon’s love for her family, her zest for life, and her steadfast faith in the Lord will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, her generosity, and the joy she brought to every heart she touched.
