Nancy K.Pearson McArthur passed away on May 6th, 2026, as a longtime resident of Friendswood, Texas, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on February19th, 1948, in San Antonio, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother known for her sharp wit and protective heart.
Nancy was defined by a legendary independent spirit. Her sister Melissa fondly recalls when the two had their tonsils removed as children: when the promised hospital ice cream never arrived, Nancy simply took charge, got them both dressed, and walked them home. Their parents later found them there, safe and happily eating pudding. This same determination stayed with her throughout her working years and her life in Friendswood.
She is survived by her husband, Alan McArthur, her sons Quinn Pearson, Nicholas Pearson (wife Jaffra), and their father West Pearson. She is also survived by Alan’s children, David, Fiona (husband Ewan), and Stuart (wife Karen), as well as eight beloved grandchildren; Preston, Sebastian, Justice, Liam, Charlotte, Ethan, Beatrix and Bobby.
Additionally, she leaves behind her last surviving sibling, her sister Melissa A. and husband Tim Twardowski; her niece, Hannah Twardowski and nephew Jeremy Oliver.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty L.Duncan and Ret.MSgt. Edward G. Smith and her sister Cynthia Lynn Smith Oliver.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
