Melody married the love of her life, Mark Wells, on June 7, 1974. Together, they raised two children whom she adored deeply. Melody was a beloved wife, mother, aunt, and sister in Christ. Her generosity, kindness, and creative spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She was known for her handmade cards, delicious baked goods, and homemade peach preserves, which she shared with family and friends alike.
Melody had a deep love for the beauty of God’s creation, especially the beach, where she found peace in the sound of the waves and the vastness of the ocean. She cherished collecting seashells, each one a reminder of the Creator’s intricate design. Being surrounded by nature always reminded her of God’s greatness and love. Her faith in the Creator was a constant source of strength and comfort, and she saw His handiwork in every sunset, every breeze, and every seashell she found.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Myrtle Damuth, and her oldest brother, Robert Damuth. She is survived by her loving husband, Mark Wells; her children, Karen Wells Guenzel and Andrew Wells; her son-in-law, Sascha Guenzel; her sister, Barbara Damuth; her brother, Lowell Damuth; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Though she is no longer with us, the kindness she shared continues to ripple through the lives of all who knew her. Like a pebble tossed into a vast lake, the small acts of love and care that she offered will continue to spread, touching countless souls for years to come. Melody’s memory will live on in our hearts, and her spirit of generosity and compassion will never be forgotten.
Melody had always wished for her loved ones to celebrate her life with joy, rather than mourning her passing. She requested that guests wear cheerful, vibrant colors to her service, reflecting the happiness she felt in knowing she was going home to the Lord.
A memorial service will be held at Channelview Church of Christ, 1301 Sheldon Rd, Channelview, TX 77530, on Saturday, February 1st, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
