

Luke received his novice amateur license (WA5DAP) in 1961. While advancing his certifications in Ham Radio, he pursued his love of aviation completing his first solo flight to Palacios, TX in 1965. That same year he completed his Eagle Scout Rank where until recently he kept in communication with many of his Troop 4 friends. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1966. Shortly after graduation he and his best friend, Ron, served in the U.S. Air Force (Air National Guard) until 1972.
He was a proud "Telephone Man" employed by SBC for over 31 years. Following retirement he flew Angel Flights and aerial pipeline surveillance. He and his wife, Reckie, spent many years at Twin Oaks, their country place raising their animals. In 2013, he was inducted into the Houston Chapter Group of The Quiet Birdmen Association. Luke was a devoted member of Hope Lutheran Church where he and Reckie have spent over 30 years attending services.
The family wishes to express deep gratitude to Victorious Assisted Living for their loving care. Luke will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Reckie; his son: L. Brandon (Angie); daughter, Melissa Carver; and son, Colin (Susan) and grandchildren: Caily and Ashtyn Carver, Lucas Rizzo and Wyatt Rizzo.

A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
