

He was born on October 2, 1933, to the late Leslie and Della Husband in Washington, D.C. Eldon was raised in Savage, MD and Laurel, MS and graduated from The University of Texas in 1975 with a PHD in Electrical Engineering. He also received a MAS at Southern Methodist University, a BAS at the University of Houston, and an AAS at the Capitol Institute of Technology. He served in the U.S. Army from May 1953-April 1956 in Germany as a Sargent radar repairman. Eldon worked for Texas Instruments Inc from 1966-1974 as a senior engineer and Martin Marietta Co from 1959 -1963 as a support engineer, Digitronic Corp in 1963-1964 as a field engineer and Dresser Control Inc from 1964-1966 as a project engineer. Eldon was an Associate Professor Emeritus at the University of Houston, Clear Lake TX and taught Computer Systems Design and Process Monitoring and Control from 1975-2008 when he retired. During that time, he also served as an Associate Dean at the University from 1988-1991. Additionally, he was a consultant engineer and a master electrician. Eldon served on the board of directors from the Texas Electrical Industry Council in Houston, TX from 1983-1985.
He enjoyed long walks with his dog around his 20 acres of land and cutting the grass. He also liked traveling and taking his family on cruises. Eldon was loved by everyone that knew him. He was always available to help his grandchildren with their school projects. He was a kind and loving person that will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Eldon is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Della Husband; his brothers David Husband and Lowel Husband; sisters Francis Buckelew and Susan Bell.
Eldon is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nuala Christine Sullivan Husband and 3 children, Cindy White of New Orleans, LA, Jim Husband and wife Britni of Broken Arrow, OK, and Wayne Husband and wife Donna of Alvin, TX. He is also survived by his step-children Mark Jones and wife Gloria of Missouri City, TX and Steven Jones and wife Stacy of Liverpool, TX and 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and brother Ron and wife Lila of Dallas, TX along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will celebrate his wonderful spirit, joy and talent at a later date. The service is to be held at the Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
