

He was born to Lorraine and David James Wheeler, and grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. Michael was born December 13, 1947. He married Marilyn Temple-Noworyta on January 3, 1981, in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. He attended Texas Wesleyan University and Tindale Seminary, earning degrees in IT and Exegesis, and a Master's in Theological studies. He began his career at Tandy Corporation in Ft. Worth, retiring from XTO/Exxon Mobil as a Systems Analyst. After retiring, Michael moved to Galveston Island, Texas with Marilyn, where he pursued his love of fishing, golfing, and playing guitar.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn Kay Wheeler and children Dawne Nowortya, Kelli McClure (Jimmy), Jason Wheeler (Cathy), Bonnie Tilley (Troy) and his grandchildren Zoe McClure, Greyson Tilley, Rhys Tilley, Kai McClure and Tyler Wheeler along with his Aunt Jean Guyton, cousins, and several close relatives in Tennessee, Michigan, Kentucky and Florida.
