Born on September 18, 1944, in the serene town of Boothbay, Maine, Warren was the beloved son of Warren L. MacQuarrie Sr. and Clara M. Marr. His formative years in Boothbay instilled in him a deep appreciation for nature and the sea, influences that would remain with him throughout his life.
Warren's life was one of dedication, service, and love. He proudly served his country as a Merchant Marine in the United States Navy Reserve, beginning his service as a Deck Cadet in 1963 and rising to the rank of Lieutenant by the time of his resignation in 1974. His commitment to duty and excellence extended beyond his military service into his civilian career.
For over three decades, Warren worked diligently as a Longshoreman Safety Compliance Manager with esteemed companies such as Ports America, Maersk, and Sea Land. His expertise in safety compliance was unparalleled, and he generously shared his knowledge by volunteering as an expert witness, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and peers alike.
In 1993, Warren married the love of his life, CJ Nagaoka-MacQuarrie, in a beautiful ceremony in Lake Tahoe. Their marriage was a testament to love and companionship, filled with shared experiences and cherished memories. Together, they delighted in fishing trips across the Bay Area and treasured moments with family and friends. In 2019, they embarked on a new adventure, moving to Las Vegas to be closer to their children and enjoy their well-deserved retirement.
Warren was an avid fisherman, always in search of the ultimate catch. He found serenity and joy in the gentle rhythm of the waves and the thrill of a successful day on the water. His passion for fishing was a reflection of his zest for life and his appreciation for the simple pleasures it offers.
Warren is survived by his devoted wife, CJ, his 3 loving step-children, Naomi, Selena, and Dominick, 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He leaves behind his cherished sisters, Linda, Jean, and Nancy, who will forever hold him in their hearts. Warren was predeceased by his parents, Warren Sr. and Clara, his brother Mark, and step-children Desiree and Dean. His legacy of kindness, strength, and dedication will be remembered by all who knew him.
In honor of Warren, a small celebration of his life will be held at the family’s home in Las Vegas, with a much larger celebration in Hawaii at a later date. Warren's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support extended to them during this time of loss.
May Warren Leslie MacQuarrie Jr. rest in eternal peace, his spirit forever sailing the vast and peaceful waters he so dearly loved.
