Virginia Yvonne Kunz

Virginia “Yvonne” Kunz, 80, of Las Vegas passed away on February 8, 2018. She was born on April 7, 1937 in Phoenix, Arizona to Herman and Dollie Jett (Brakebill). Yvonne was a graduate of ASU where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Education. She was a Teacher at Twin Lakes Elementary here in Las Vegas up until her retirement in 1987.

Teaching was her passion. Yvonne was a creative person by nature. She loved decorating her classroom bulletin boards to reflect the holidays and seasons. It brought her joy to be able to share those traditions later in life by decorating her door at the assisted living where she resided for ALL of the holidays even if that meant switching decorations half way through the month to ensure she celebrated them all. She expressed her creativity by singing hymns and writing poetry. She even had some of her favorite poems published. Yvonne was a caring person who loved making others smile.

Yvonne is survived by her son Kendall Kunz (Nancy); grandsons Justin and Jaren Kunz; and her brother Jim Jett (Lynne).

She is preceded in death by her parents; and ex-husband Dave Kunz.

There will a celebration of life for Yvonne on Saturday February 17 at 3 pm at Brookdale Cheyenne 6031 W Cheyenne Ave Las Vegas, NV 89108.
