Special C Reed (Spencer) passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on November 6, 2018. Special was born in Belzoni, Mississippi on March 26, 1940 but actually grew up in Stockton, California. After graduating from Edison High School in Stockton Calif., he went in to the U.S. Army attaining the rank of PFC (Private First Class). After proudly serving his country, he went to work for Owens Illinois Glass Company and it is there that he met the love of his life, Linda in 1968. In 1970, Special and Linda were married in Los Angeles where they spent 2 years before moving to raise their family in Valinda, California.
Special went back to school in the 80’s at Mt. San Antonio College to get his degree in Electronic Engineering to better his position within the company. In 2014 Special and Linda moved to North Las Vegas in order to be closer to the grandchildren. He loved watching football, fishing and going to the gun range.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Linda, his son Anthony Reed, daughter Erica Reed, sister Mildred Tooks of Stockton, Ca.; granddaughters Desyrae Reed-McCoy and her husband Steve, Sabreana, Cora and Brittany, and grandsons Nicholas, Joaquin, Johnny, Roman, and Carlos and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Aster and Margaret Reed, his brother Grant Reed and sisters Genola Jeffrey and Odester McKinley.
