Katherine “Louise” Morris, age 76 years old, passed away surrounded by her family on January 6, 2018 after a struggle with lung cancer. She was born on February 12, 1941 in Seattle, Washington to Frank E. Thorne (deceased) and Tommie Lou (Klinner) Thorne (deceased).
Louise graduated from Edmonds High School in 1959. She married the love of her life Kenneth L. Morris in 1959 and traveled the world as an Air Force wife. She worked as an administrative assistant,a stay at home mother, a bank teller, and was an Avon Representative since 1974.
Her motto “Walk beside me, be my Friend” was her mission in life. She was a friend to all. Louise was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority since 1973; past president of Xi Delta in Layton, Utah in 1980-81; past president of Preceptor Phi in Layton, Utah in 1980-90. Her current chapter was Laureate Alpha Alpha in Henderson, NV. Louise was Past Mother Advisor for the International Order of Rainbow for Girls in Bitburg, Germany (1974-76) and received the Grand Cross of Color in 1976. Louise was a current member of the Social Order of Beauceant since 1977; past president in Ogden, Utah in 1985. She was a current member of the Order of Amaranth since 1994: Past Royal Matron in Lynnwood, Washington in 1996-97; Grand Marshall in the West of the Grand Court, Order of Amaranth of Washington (1997-98).Louise was past Auxiliary Commander of Black Mountain #12 Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary in Henderson (2004-06) and State Treasurer (2005-07).
Louise will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband of 58 years, Kenneth L. Morris, daughter Karri Lynn (Tom) Hayford, son Keith (Maria) Morris; and her grandchildren Elizabeth (James) Blalock, Michael (Meredith) Hayford. She will be fondly remembered by her sister Helen Cherry, half-sister Gaylene Bauder and half-brother Gary Thorne, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
A Memorial Service and a Celebration of Life to share memories will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Boulder City Masonic Lodge, 901 Arizona St. Henderson, NV. 89006. Phone 702-239-1809.
