Iam a best friend of Peter Lorenzo and he always talked to me about
John may he rest in peace.

John and I became best friends in the 7th Grade when my family moved to his street. For years, we rode our bikes all over the place.
When we became of "license to drive " age, John was first to get a car.
He knew that Camaro inside and out and he pampered it.
I bought a Mustang and he installed a "secret switch" which enabled me to cut off the engine so it would not be stolen. For years and years my spouse and I always recalled that item with fond memories.
We kept in touch after John moved to LV and we attended his wedding there when he married Julia. He was very happy to finally "settle down". They visited us here in Myrtle Beach on a few occasions and we always had a wonderful time. On one of his visits he drove across the country from Nevada to South Carolina.
God bless him that he could do that.

We were very saddened to learn he passed away but were happy that we had a chance to see him and Julia last October.
We will be praying for him every week as Ticia has put his name in her Sunday missal. Condolences to Julia and her family.

Hank Tiedemann.    Friend     Jan 14 2025.                 I have know John for over 50 years . John and l got drafted in 1966 by the U.S. Army. We met in basic training. We both got transferred to Korea . We  kept in touch during this time . After we got discharged we became best of friends. We lived in the same neighborhood. John had many friends through out Bensonhurst and Bayridge  Brooklyn. He loved his 1966 Chevy Chevelle  at that time . He’s always loved cars and classic cars since that time .           John was well loved by all his Friends  including me . John will truly be missed.    My Sincere Condolences to Julia and Family

John or "Papa John" as we called him, was my grandfather in spirit. I never had the opportunity to know my grandfathers by blood. I will always remember the times we hanged out together. The fondest moments of which we did a painting project or shared our military experiences. Rest in peace.

John was our neighbor here in Nevada. He was a very kind and generous man. He would offer to help you any way he could. We wish to send Julia and his family our sincerest condolences. May his memory be a blessing.

I also grew up with John on 80th St. After we became adults, we went our separate ways and I lost touch with John. Years later I was traveling to Las Vegas on business, had heard John lived there, and gave him a call. John invited me to his house. We had a nice lunch and spent the afternoon talking about all sorts of things. Despite the years, the conversation was as easy and natural as when we were kids.

After that, John would send a Christmas card every year. After receiving the card, I would call and we’d spend time catching up on the events of the past year. This year, though, things were different. There was no Christmas card and no pleasant phone call. Just the horrible news that a friend had passed. 

My sincerest condolences to Julia and the family.

So sorry to hear about John’s (Johnny as we called him) passing.  My name is Carol and I grew up across the street from John.  We all played together on the block, riding bikes, roller skating , and playing stoop ball.  As we got older we started to go out separate schools, however, when we came back we always had a hold to our block friends. 
I hope John rests in peace and enjoys seeing all of his friends from the block including my brother John. Sincerely Carol Assini-Cucci

John was one of the kindest men that I have known in my life. we both grew up on the same block in Brooklyn New York, even though John was older he never treated me as a kid.
John was someone that I always looked up too.
John loved his cars and was always ready to answer any dumb questions I had about his car or any other car that came to mind
I know that he will be missed by his wife who he talked of often 
and he will always be in my heart as one of the best from80th street.
May he rest in peace and be in Gods care for eternity.
