With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James Wilson Bush Jr., lovingly known as "Jim," who departed this world on April 3, 2025. Born on May 5, 1947, in Cookeville, Tennessee, Jim lived a full and meaningful life, leaving behind an enduring legacy of love and service.
Jim was a devoted husband to Marnie King Bush, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage since January 1, 2012. He cherished his family deeply, including his three daughters, Kristin McArthur, Kristen Carino (spouse Jensen), and Lindsey Bjerke, who now rests in peace.
His life was further enriched by his five grandchildren, Jadyn Altheide (spouse Ben), Madisyn Wright (spouse Josh), Zacary McArthur, Avery Carino, and Addison Carino, as well as his two precious great-grandchildren, Hazel Wright and Everett Altheide.
Jim was a beloved brother to Carol Sullivan (spouse Robert, deceased), Frank Bush (spouse Judy), and John Bush. He was also surrounded by the love of his sisters-in-law Kathie McDowell (spouse Bruce) and Susan Parson (spouse David), along with many nieces and nephews who held him dear.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James Wilson Bush Sr. and Lola Mae Bush; his sister, Jane Savich (spouse Bo, deceased); and his son-in-law, Sheldon McArthur. Their memory will now embrace him in eternity.
A proud veteran, Jim served as a sergeant in the United States Air Force, finding great pride in dedicating his life to the service of his country. In 1985, he made Las Vegas, Nevada, his home, where he became the vice president of Pace Contracting Co. until his well-earned retirement in 2008.
Jim embraced life with unwavering passion. He was an avid golfer, often found on the course where his love for the sport brought him immense joy. Traveling and cruising with Marnie added light to his days, and the company of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him boundless happiness.
In his final years, Jim bravely fought a long and difficult battle with COPD, displaying extraordinary strength until the very end. He was a fighter in every sense of the word, and his departure leaves an unfillable void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Rest in peace, Jim. Your legacy of love and kindness will live on in the lives you touched. Your light will never fade.
