Harry C. Foran

Harry C. Foran, professionally known as Mark Edwards, peacefully passed away on April 24, 2019, surrounded by loved ones. He was 88. Harry was born August 30, 1930 in Milwaukee, WI, the only son of Gertrude (Biesgen) and Harry Foran. At the age of 17 Harry enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served for 6 years. During his time enlisted, he visited many places around the world and was a veteran of the Korean War. Upon his discharge from the Marine Corps, Harry decided to pursue his passion for broadcasting. He attended the Milwaukee School of Broadcasting, graduating in 1961. He would continue his broadcasting career over the next 45 years. He began his career in his hometown of Milwaukee, and over the next four-and-a-half decades Harry would work in various cities across the country. In 1968, he and his family would land in Lompoc, CA where he worked at KNEZ for the next 10 years. After his time in Lompoc, Harry would find his home in Las Vegas, NV where he would finish the remainder of his career. He worked at various radio stations in Las Vegas, most notably KDWN. During his broadcasting career, Mark Edwards would dabble in every corner of radio. This included playing records as a DJ, covering local and national sports and news, as well as talk radio. In 2004, he was inducted in to the Nevada Broadcaster’s Association Hall of Fame. An honor which he held in high regard. Harry was an avid fan of all sports, but particularly enjoyed playing golf with his friends and family. He was a life-long fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. Harry was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Julie Foran. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jacquelyn; his two sons, Jeffrey Charles and Joseph Robert; grandchildren, Joshua Charles (Veronica), Christine Jacquelyn, Molly Beare, Brittany Rose, and Sara Kovacs; and his great-grandchildren Hannah and J.J. Services will be held May 16, 2019 at his final resting place at the Boulder City Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at 10 AM.
