Genevieve Marie Hupe

Genevieve was born on April 22, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois; the only daughter of the late Dominic and Elizabeth Balachus. She graduated from Harrison HS in Chicago, IL and married her husband of 62 years Theodore “Ted” Hupe in June of 1961. She enjoyed a long run as an executive assistant for the Amoco corporation in Chicago. She enjoyed a second career as a Real Estate agent after moving to Las Vegas in 1993.

She is survived by her husband Theodore Hupe, son Mark (wife Kelly Cruse), daughter Lisa and granddaughters, Savannah, Tess, Reese and Lindsey. She was followed in passing by her son Michael Hupe recently.

Genevieve’s passions included cooking, hosting holiday meals, teaching her granddaughters how to bake and cook, and attending countless volleyball matches to watch Lisa, Reese, and Lindsey play. Genevieve was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church for over 30 years.

A memorial mass to celebrate Genevieve’s life will be held on June 25th at 10:30am, at the Our Lady of Las Vegas located at 3036 Alta Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89107. Interment will be held at 1pm at Palms Mortuary and Cemetery North Las Vegas at 6701 N Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial donations be made to the American Stroke Association.
