Earl Lewis Lynes (Lou) of Henderson, Nevada who was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather passed away on June 23, 2018 after an unexpected heart attack. Lou was born in Fullerton, California on January 02, 1942 to Harlan Howard Lynes and Loretta Esther Lynes. Lou received an Associates Degree from Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California. He worked for nearly 30 years in public service as an Animal Control Officer working up to the rank of Director. Lou retired from public service in 1992 where he then went on to work a second career in the field of real estate investing as a coach, eventually owning his own coaching business helping people learn the business of buying and selling homes until he finally retired in 2012. He was a military veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a Sergeant, Military Police.
Lou was a lifetime breeder of English Budgies (Parakeets). Lou was a car enthusiast owning numerous classic cars over the years with his last being a 1960 Ford F100 that he built into the style of a rat rod. He was very proud that the Ford was powered by a Chevy engine and he took great delight in naming it "Henry Ford". Lou was on the Board of Directors for the Pet Club, as well as a member of the Garden and Veterans Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother William (Bill). He is survived by his wife of over 54 1/2 years, Virginia Lee Lynes (Ginger) also of Henderson, Nevada. Ginger works in the membership office of the Anthem Center. He is also survived by his son Michael Lewis Lynes and daughter-in-law Britni Lynes of Draper, Utah, a daughter Janel Lee Jewell-Campbell and her husband Christopher Campbell of Ferrisburgh, Vermont along with his four legged little girl, Suki (Japanese Chin Dog). Lou was a grandfather to Deighlin Heath Lynes, Lexia Jaclyn Lynes, Adalaide Lee Lynes, Kharizma Carpenter, Vance Carpenter, Kaleigh Campbell and Emma Campbell.
Lou was a practicing member of the Catholic Faith. His family would like to thank the members of the Henderson City Fire Department, the Doctors and Nursing Staff of Dignity Health St. Rose Dominican-Siena Campus Hospital, Emergency Room Staff, Cardiac Staff, and the Intensive Care Unit who worked tirelessly for two days to try and bring Louie back to his family. A funeral mass for Lou will be held Wednesday June 27, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church located at 2300 Sunridge Heights Parkway, Henderson, Nevada 89052, along with a celebration of his life which will be held directly after the funeral mass in the Bristol Room of the anthem Center-Sun City Anthem located at 2450 Hampton Road, Henderson Nevada 89052.
