Charles (Charlie) Edward Keenan, age 64, of Las Vegas, Neveda, passed away peacefully on May 15th, 2023 at Saint Rose Dominican Hospital with his beloved wife Tammy by his bedside. Charlie was born in Brooklyn, New York, on July 12, 1958- the firstborn son of the late Master Chief Charles G. Keenan, USN Ret and Claire Marie Little Keenan of New York.
Charlie was raised in Staten Island, NY and Phoenix, AZ, and graduated from Thunderbird High School in 1976. Charlie was the oldest of six children and was always admired by his four sisters and younger brother. Married to the love of his life Tammy Keenan (whom he affectionately called his “Shine”) for more than 30 years, he dearly loved and helped provide for his 3 children and 8 grandchildren. “Uncle Charlie” will be missed greatly by them and by his 17 nieces and nephews and 3 great nieces.
Charlie enjoyed life to the fullest and made friends wherever he went. He loved spending time with family, preparing and enjoying a good meal (especially his homemade sauce!), watching and betting sporting events, playing cards (even getting to play in the World Series of Poker), and reminiscing with old friends. Charlie will be missed by all that knew him. Whether pouring a drink at Putters, the Excalibur, Brando’s or the old Colorado Belle in Laughlin, he was easy to talk to, well-liked by all that knew him, and always willing to lend a helping hand. He and Tammy made wonderful memories together from meeting at the Colorado Belle, spending time where she worked at the Luxor, to planning Laughlin group trips with their friends at the Riverside Resort and at the Laughlin’s river home (he was a longtime friend of the Laughlin family), toasting at the Gourmet Room, working in their beautiful garden and relaxing at home with their dogs, especially Diamond.
Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. Rest in peace, Charlie…till we meet again.
A funeral mass will be held at Saint Peter the Apostle Church in Henderson, Nevada (204 S. Boulder Hwy Henderson, NV 89015) on Monday June 19th, 2023 at 10:00 am with a reception to follow in the parish hall.
