Blanche Ethel Mitchell-Boler's journey through life was one marked by resilience, determination, and a deep dedication to her family and community. Born in Ashland, Mississippi, and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, she was one among nine siblings in a close-knit community, lovingly nurtured by her parents, Ethel Lee Reaves-Mitchell and Willie Franklin Mitchell. Her education at Booker T. Washington High School in Shelby County equipped her with valuable skills in shorthand, leading her to become a proficient medical stenographer, a role she fulfilled for over two decades. Blanche's career path also led her to excel as the head of hospital stenography units and an administrative assistant in various locations, including St. Louis, Missouri, Colorado, and Northern California.
In 1966, Blanche relocated to Northern California, where she played an instrumental role in supporting her son, Leon "Butch" Boler, in establishing the Production Chemical Manufacturing Company in Stockton, California. Together, they built a successful business, developing independent distributors nationwide and forging strong relationships with major auto dealerships, body shops, auto parts stores, and government maintenance facilities. Blanche's skills and expertise opened doors to major accounts, making her a well-known figure in the industry.
Beyond her professional and family life, Blanche had a zest for life and a love for sports. She watched sporting events with enthusiasm and excitement, finding joy in the camaraderie and competition. San Francisco Warriors was a favorite. Blanche also cherished the simple pleasures of life, and playing cards with family brought her immeasurable happiness and laughter.
Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Lewyn Burchette Boler Jr. and her cherished son, Larry Paul Mitchell whose memory remained a constant source of strength for her.
Blanche's legacy lives on through her devoted and loving children: Lewyn "Leon'' Boler of Stockton, California; Charleete Monyette Boler-Black of Seattle, Washington; Rocky B. Boler of South Hampton, New York; Jena Michelle Rosborough of Mukilteo, Washington; Frederick L. Boler of Stockton, California; and Lonnie Boler of Medford, Oregon. Each of them carries a part of her spirit within them, and she will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
She also leaves behind 19 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren, and 22 Great-Great Grandchildren, along with spouses of those married, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The love and legacy of Blanche Ethel Mitchell-Boler will be forever cherished and celebrated by her extended family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory continue to inspire us to cherish our loved ones, make lasting contributions, and embrace the strength of family bonds.
