Our beloved Betsy Chloe Grinslade passed gently in the afternoon of August 10, 2026. The sky was a beautiful blue. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her sister, Kay Padgham, her family, and her cherished friends.
Betsy always expressed a deep sense of pride in her parents, Al and Jane Grinslade. They shared a love of basketball, and Betsy’s favorite team was the Rebels. She was a passionate fan and enjoyed many years of cheering for the team alongside her sister.
Betsy treasured her years as a middle school teacher. She spoke fondly of her time in Guam and embraced its culture throughout her life. She also had a deep love for the performing arts and looked forward, year after year, to attending performances at the Smith Center.
Betsy devoted her time, love, and heart to her extensive pet family throughout the years. Sophie was the one pet who captured her heart in a special way. After the loss of her treasured Sophie, Betsy continued her devotion to her furry family, rescuing Buddy and then Coco and giving each of them a beautiful life filled with love.
The charities closest to Betsy’s heart were the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the Forgotten Dogs Animal Rescue. In honor of Betsy and her legacy, please consider making a donation to either of these organizations.
Betsy’s final resting place will be at Sunset Memorial in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The date and time are still pending.
Betsy’s parting words after a visit were, “Don’t worry, I will be here. I am not going anywhere.”
May Betsy’s gentle spirit remain forever in each of our hearts.
