Just heard of your passing Alexis. I worked with you for one year. That time knowing you was GREAT! I had just lost my Mom. You were there for me. You were truly a great soul. I never say that about people, so I really do mean it. I loved your eyes. You were so pretty! I’m so glad I had the chance to know you—if even for a little. Rest in Peace Alexis.

Eulogy for Alexis F Figueroa

Today, we gather to honor and remember our beautiful Alexis, our cherished great niece. Uncle Jeff and I (Aunt Mona) want to express just how much we love you, how much we miss you. You were a light in our lives—a girl with not only a beautiful smile but a beautiful heart. Your kindness, your sweetness, and your laughter will forever echo in our hearts.

You had the kind of spirit that made everyone around you smile. And yes, we loved your big, beautiful ears. They may have been a little different, but they were part of what made you uniquely you, and they added so much character to your already wonderful personality.

One of our fondest memories with you was when we took you to Disneyland. You were only five, and it was the best day—just the three of us, filled with joy. I can still picture Jeff spinning you on the teacups, you laughing and laughing, pure joy radiating from you. And Dumbo—the way you smiled as you soared through the sky was priceless. You were so well-behaved, so patient. We went on ride after ride, exploring every corner of that magical place. And when we finally got cotton candy, it was a special treat—only because we had all been good that day. You were always so kind and understanding, even when we attached that expandable bracelet to you in the crowd, making sure you stayed close.

But you didn’t complain. You trusted us, and at the end of the day, when we got you settled in the back of the car, you drifted off to sleep with a peaceful smile, like the angel you were.

As time passed, life led us in different directions, but we never lost touch. Jeff and I visited you, Troy, and Crystal, sharing laughter, playing games, and taking long walks. I remember so clearly the afternoons spent at the football field, watching Troy practice while we chased each other around, laughing and talking, or making our way to the store to gather ingredients for dinner. Those simple moments were the ones we treasured the most.

Then, as you grew older, you found your path. You joined the ROTC in school, showing discipline and dedication. We watched you grow into a strong, independent young woman, and we couldn’t have been prouder. And when you met Dominic, fell in love, and had Dominic Jr., our hearts swelled with pride. You were so young, but so brave in making decisions that many of us would hesitate to make. We knew then, as we know now, that your heart was full of love for your family, your mother, and your brother.


But life, as it often does, took turns we didn’t expect. You faced challenges, some of which led you down difficult paths. But that doesn’t define you. You were always more than the struggles you faced. You were a beautiful soul, a loving mother, a loving daughter, a proud sister, and a sweet niece.

We know in the end, you wanted to find your way back to the light. We saw you fighting, even in the hardest moments, and we prayed for you. We had the priest come, we blessed you, and we sat by your side, holding onto hope and faith. But, as we all know, God had a different plan for you, one that took you into His arms, into His peace.

Now, we take comfort in knowing that you are with our Heavenly Father, embraced by Jesus, the Blessed Mother, and all the angels and saints. You are in a place of peace, love, and eternal joy, and one day, we will be reunited. Until then, we hold on to the memories, the laughter, the tears of joy, and the love we shared. These moments are safe in our hearts, and nothing can take them away.

Alexis, you touched our lives in ways we can never fully put into words. We will always carry you with us, and we will never forget the beautiful person you were. We love you, and though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, they are also full of gratitude for having had you in our lives.

Rest in peace, Alexis. We will meet again one day. God be with you, and thank you, Jesus, for watching over her. To the family, we send our deepest sympathy and love. We love you all. Psalms 23

Alexis, I love you and miss you. I don't know what happened or why it happened but I will tell you one thing right now. Wait till your dad gets home. Everything will be a different story. Jeremy says he loves you Dom misses you and he'll be OK. I got him. I'll help him do his anxiety, but he's sad. You did your good your deeds. He's a good boy. He knows what's up. The rest is on his own he had a kid that has a pretty expensive taste and he's gonna be just fine though he regrets not being there. That's something he has to learn to live with and understand in time he'll figure it out. I love you. I love you and it was such a honor to be your mother. Hug the boys for me give me a kiss. Say hi to Sheli. I know you hate her but say hi to her. Tell Teddy I said hello.
