Tom Sullivan, 86, passed away peacefully with family by his side in The Villages, Florida, on July 7, 2017. Tom was predeceased by his wife Anne, grandson Mark Kaminski and his parents, Tom & Elto Sullivan. He leaves behind his brothers Dick (Sally) of Houston and Jim (Anne) of Tampa, three children and nine grandchildren: Dan and Bernadette Sullivan (Devin, Dylan and Brenna), Mary Pat and Dave Kaminski (Joe, Mark and Steve) and Kevin and Peggy Sullivan (Nick and Dennis), as well as several nieces and nephews. Tom was born and raised in in Syracuse, NY, and graduated from St. Anthony’s grammar and high schools, where he antagonized the nuns and excelled in several sports in the old Parochial League. He served in the US Army (Korean era) and the Syracuse Fire Department, retiring as a Lieutenant. Tom and Anne were married in 1955 and raised their family in “the Valley” area of Syracuse. They ran with the “Rat Pack” and the “Rascals” and developed lifelong friendships with their neighbors and friends in the Valley and West Side and continued for the past 31 years in The Villages in Florida. Tom had a great life and will be remembered for his love and devotion to Anne and family, his many friends, his Irish stubbornness and quick wit and will be dearly missed by all. The family deeply appreciates the care and attention of the nurses, doctors and volunteers at The Villages Hospital system and the Cornerstone Hospice. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Timothy’s in The Villages at a later date.
