Santo “Sonny” Guinta of The Villages, Florida passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at the age of 91. He was born on October 21, 1933 in Passaic, New Jersey where he grew up the oldest of 4 siblings.
Santo was a Korean War Veteran, a Corporal in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the War.
Santo worked for Calumet Manufacturing Co. as a Silk Screen Technician and Floor Manager. He improved and developed a more efficient technique to produce and adhere the labeling on various containers, doubling production. The Owners sent him to their plant in Germany to oversee the updating of their equipment.
Santo was actively involved in golf, bowling, the Italian-American Club, the New Jersey Club and the American Legion Post 347.
Santo was preceded in death by his parents Charles & Josephine Giunta, his sister Cathryn “Honey” Loiacono, his brother Anthony “Junior” Giunta and his sister Roslyn “Ree” Plog.
Santo is survived by his wife of 67 years Marie Patti Guinta, his son Charles Giunta & his daughter-in-law Kristina Giunta, his daughter Patti Lee Brandt and 3 Grandsons Benjamin Brandt, Michael Brandt and Anthony Giunta and many nieces & nephews.
We have fond memories of Holidays with family on Berkeley Ave and New Year’s Eves at Grandma’s house in Clifton. Always remembering the good times with our Olive Street neighbors. Of course there were many fun times with our new friends here in Florida. He also found solace in the quiet moments alone with his wife and family.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Mark The Evangelist, 7081 SE Hwy 42, Summerfield, FL 34491 on May 27, 2025 at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513 on May 27, 2025 at 1:00 pm.
