Myrna Loutaine Huthmacher

Myrna Loutaine Huthmacher, 81, passed away on August 27, 2025 surrounded by her family at her residence in Mount Dora Florida. She was born July 3, 1944 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings Nebraska.

She was a graduate of Hasting Senior High School in 1962. Whereafter, she went on to become a phenomenal career woman and most of all an incredible mother and stepmother of ten children. She was a successful sales manager for Gibsons Discount store, Tupperware, Innovative Mobility, and sales representative for Apple. She opened and owned Myrna’s School of Dance in 1961-1966 where as a seamstress she designed and made costumes and gowns. She used her sewing talents to serve her community by quilting blankets for hospitals and homeless shelters.

Myrna was an avid genealogist, tracing her family lineage back to biblical times. She and her late husband, Robert H. Huthmacher, spent much time researching to fill holes in many different family lineages in effort to document familial histories. She worked so future genealogist would have ease of access in finding her autobiography and first-hand account of life as it was in her time.

Survived by her children Debra Foxworth, Michelle Dotto, Michael Potts, Bryan Potts, and her bonus children Robert Huthmacher, John Huthmacher, Ronald Huthmacher, David Huthmacher, her sister Helen Dutton and her 19 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband Robert H. Huthmacher, son Kenneth D. Potts, and bonus child Robin D. Branco, her parents Lester and Opal Leonard, her siblings Howard Essen, Marie Essen, Lester Leonard, Vernon Leonard, and Donald Leonard.

Memorial service will be held at East Lake Community Church located at 25310 SR. 46, Sorrento, FL, 32776 on September 7, 2025 at 3:30 pm.
