Michael John Ahearn

Dearly beloved husband of Dianne M. Smith, nee Fisher, and the late Mary Philomena, nee Broderick. Loving father of Kevin (Julie) Ahearn and Kathleen Ahearn. Loving step-father of Jeffrey (Darlene) Smith and Marc (Mary Catherine) Smith. Cherished grandfather of eight – Matthew, Brendan and Kamryn Ahearn, Greta and Pierce Vossenberg, Andrew (Amy) Smith, Jack (Allison) Smith and Madeline Smith.

Preceded in death by loving parents John and Beatrice Clavin Ahearn and sisters Dolores (Morris) Vanderhack and Mary (Robert) Bartik. Uncle and great-uncle to many.

Mike’s hobbies included shooting trap and skeet with his buddies, vanilla ice cream shakes and eating many fried shrimp baskets. His utmost pleasure was his family; he so loved his grandkids – taking pride in all they’ve accomplished.

Mike retired as Deputy District Chief after serving 33 years on the Chicago Fire Department.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Saint Paul Catholic Church, 1330 Sunshine Ave, Leesburg, FL 34748 on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 8:30 am with the Interment to follow at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, Fl 33513 at 11:00 am.
