Mary Ellen Holdreith, 83 yrs, passed away at the Cornerstone Hospice, 24 January 2019. She is survived by her husband Joe Holdreith of 59 years and children Michele and her spouse of Wilmington, NC, Maureen Digulimio Holdreith of Juno Beach, FL. Greg Holdreith and his spouse of Norfolk, VA and Patrick Holdreith of Miami, FL. and one sister Patricia Carey of N. Salem, NY. She was born in Bloomington, IL, raised inn Springfield, where she attended and graduated from the Sacred Heart Academy.
Her love of dance was a life long affair. She danced professionally , taught dance in the Unite States, Philippines and Japan; became actively involved in gymnastics while residing in Japan and her association with the Ikegami Gymnastic Club, Tokyo, there at. She continued on to become a premier rhythmic gymnastics coach and formed the nationally respected rhythmic gymnastic team the “Miami Twisters”. She continued on to become a National Team Coach ,training and nurturing of two Olympians and the Silver Medal Team Coach for the “88” Pan American Games, Puerto Rico. She was subsequently awarded “The Master Of Sports” award by her respective gymnastic organization.
A celebration of life will; be held at the American Legion Post 347, Lady Lake, FL on 23 Mar 2019, 1300 -1500. In lieu of flowers , donations may be made in her name to the Cornerstone Hospice, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, Fl. 32162.
