John Vincent McNally, 93, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017 in The Villages, Florida surrounded by his family. John was born October 29, 1923 to Thomas and Blanche (Willis) McNally in Los Angeles, California. He grew up with his dear siblings, Eleanor, Thomas (Mack), and Joseph. He attended the seminary of the Franciscan Order in Santa Barbara, San Miguel, and San Luis Rey. He left the order in 1946 to pursue having a family. John joined the Army and was a veteran of WWII and served in the artillery during the Korean War. Through a friend, he met Maria E. Suarez in Mexico City. They married and had six children. Following 47 years of marriage, Maria passed away in 2002. He married Carolee Davault in 2006 in San Diego County and they had 11 wonderful years together. John had a very successful career in civil service and retired as Port Director of San Ysidro in San Diego County, for U.S. Customs. Following his retirement in October 1982, he began his own business as an import/export customhouse broker and eventually entered into a very successful business partnership; Romero and McNally Co., Inc. John, an avid golfer, and his wife Carolee visited and fell in love with The Villages, Florida where they eventually called home in 2013. John was a man of strong Catholic faith who always put the needs of others in front of his own. He was a role model to his children, a loving husband, and a genuine caring person who was beloved by many people whose lives he touched. John is survived by his wife, Carolee; children: Bambi, Cindy, John, Michael, Kevin, and Carla; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; 5 step children: Mark, Georgia, Paula, Angela, and Cheryl; 12 step-grandchildren and 5 greatstep-grandchildren. A service will be held in San Diego California. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Catholic Relief Society, the Franciscan Friars, Province of Saint Barbara, or the Sisters of the Precious Blood order in Dayton Ohio.
