
John Landon Hall of The Villages, Florida passed away on Wednesday, August 27th at the age of 90. He was born on October 18, 1934 in Elizabethton, Tennessee where he graduated from Elizabethton High School.
He was a three sport athlete at Milligan College, held a B.S. degree in education and he also held a Masters degree and a EDS degree from East Tennessee State University. He served in the U.S. Army stationed in Oberamagau, Germany. He served as a Coach, Teacher, and Principal in Elementary, Junior High, and High School levels. He was also Superintendent of schools in Carter County, Tennessee. He was a member of the Christian Church for 75 years, having served as both Deacon and Elder. He was a member and Building Chairman for Fairway Christian Church in The Villages, Florida.
He is preceded in death by his parents Francis Oliver and Viola Hall and wife of forty-eight years Glenda Bain Hall. He is survived by his wife of nineteen years Louise Hall and her daughter Elizabeth Deen , sons John L. Hall Jr. and wife Nancy of Jacksonville Fla. and Todd Hall of Charleston S.C. Also surviving are his grandchildren Elizabeth Reese, Emily Hall Bailey, Kent Hall, Emily Brayman, and Hunter Deen. His great grandchildren are June and Sims Bailey, Nora and Emma Reese, and Finn Deen. He is also survived by brothers Gary Hall and Larry Hall.
He was Loved by so many and touched a lot of lives coaching and teaching.
The family would like to thank The Villages Hospital and Cornerstone Hospice for their care and compassion they showed our loved one in their final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at the Fairway Christian Church in The Villages Florida on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 4pm. Another celebration will be held in Elizabethton Tennessee at a later date.
