Joan Morrison Allen, 86, passed away in her home on June 25, 2017. She was born in Jamaica, NY. Joan moved from NY to Atlanta, GA to be close to her daughters who had relocated there. She loved her golf games and many card groups as well as her family time. Prior to moving to Summerfield, FL in 2004 Joan retired from Liz Claiborne. It was not difficult for Joan to make many new friends with her wonderful and warm personality. She never met a stranger that she didn’t befriend. She continued to enjoy her family, friends and her many bridge group ladies and showed her love to all. Joan had such a loving, caring and giving nature and would always put others before herself. Joan’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband Dick Allen and her three daughters Judy Posch of SC, Janice (Rick) Cox of TX and Jill Jackson of GA. She also has 2 loving step children, Charry Hudgins and Rick Allen of VA. She will be greatly missed by all her grandchildren - Brad Posch & wife Nicole of LA, John O'Neill & wife Meredith of GA, Brooke Posch & husband Jack Marsh of CA, and Grant Jackson & Holly Jackson of GA as well as many nieces and nephews. She was most fortunate to have 5 great grandchildren - Jackson Posch, Ethan Posch, Adrianna Hernandez, Austin Stroup and Gabriella Stroup. A Celebration of Life service will take place at the Stonecrest Community Center on Saturday, July 8th at 5pm.
