Elizabeth "Betty" Stange, 100 years young, of The Villages, passed from this world on July 28, 2017 while under the loving care of her daughter, Cornerstone Hospice, and Angie.She was born in Greenfield, MA. Being adventurous, she earned her pilot's license at the age of 19. She was a nurse at The Shriner's Children's Hospital in Springfield, MA. Because of her love of her country and airplanes, she enlisted in the Army Air Corps, serving in the WAMS. After WWII, she married her handsome Navy pilot, Edward. Together they owned and operated Valley Camera and AV Supply for many years. They had two daughters. After retiring and traveling the world, they came to The Villages 28 years ago. They took great pleasure in quality time with their two grandsons. She leaves her daughter, Elizabeth Jean, a son-in-law,John, two grandsons, Nik and Eric, a great grandson, Parker and a sister, Ann. She was preceded by her husband Edward, daughter Carol, brother Walter, sister Wilhelmina, and son-in-law David. She was a long time member of St.Paul's Lutheran Church in Greenfield, and recently a member of The Garden Worship Center. Betty was active in OES , LOS, and Daughters of the Nile. She enjoyed being a part of the My Time for Free Time at Hope Lutheran Church. Betty loved to socialize. She always glowed with a radiant smile. She loved reminiscing. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name would be appreciated to the charity of your choice.
