Dale Eager peacefully passed away on March 17 at the age of 85. He was born on June 26, 1939, in Elyria, Ohio, and often expressed how grateful he was to have been born to the best parents, in the best town, at the best time in history.
Dale graduated from Ohio State University in 1962 and went on to work in developing computer systems. On September 17, 1960, he married Patricia Phillips, and together they raised two daughters, Jennifer and Jill.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Dale enjoyed both playing and watching various sports. He continued to play softball, golf, and pickleball while living in The Villages, FL well into his 70s. When physical limitations slowed him down. a bit, he remained active, joining weekly card groups and spending his spare time working on puzzles.
Dale is survived by his daughters Jennifer Patterson, her husband Scott, and Jill Cherry (partner Ezell). Grandchildren Kendra, Kole, Sierra, Skylar and Storie and great grandchildren Reese and River. His brother David and nephews Boyd and Brad.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the residents and staff at Lake Port Square for the care and compassion they showed Dale during his final days, as well as their continued support of Pat during this difficult time.
Dale often spoke of his desire to reunite with his mother, and we take comfort knowing that he is now with her.
