Dale Allan Babbitt

Dale Allen Babbitt passed away on February 26, 2019 at age 87. Dale was born in St. Louis, Missouri, where he lived until moving to The Villages in 2003 after retirement. Dale was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired as a manufacturing engineer in the aircraft industry.

Dale was a member of the New Covenant United Methodist Church in The Villages, where he sang in the church choir, was a member of the Men’s Breakfast group, and Men’s golf group. He coached Little League baseball when his children were young and enjoyed camping with his family and square dancing with his wife and friends.

After a successful 38-year career he traveled with his wife throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the United States.

Survivors include his wife, Doloros, son Dennis and daughter Donna, four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren. Dale was preceded in death by two older brothers, Bill and Buddy, and is survived by one brother Dick, who now lives in Redding, California.

A memorial service will be held at New Covenant United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. on March 11, 2019.

Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, located in St. Louis, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to New Covenant United Methodist Church music program or Cornerstone Hospice.
