She graduated from Norview High School in Norfolk, VA and from Old Dominion University with a degree in education. She went on to get her Master of Education degree from the University of South Carolina.
She worked as an elementary school teacher in several schools in the Southeast, the longest being at A. L. Lotts Elementary School in Knoxville, TN. She loved her students and fellow teachers.
She was actively involved in Cokesbury United Methodist Church, where she led their first Financial Peace University class and volunteered as a Stephen Minister.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Gladys Little, and her brother, Mark Little.
She is survived by her husband, Linwood Tisdel, her daughter, Courtenay Simmons, her son, Bradley Petty, and her grandsons, Turner, Connor, and Parker Simmons.
Suzi had a contagious love for life and others. She was quick to laugh and always eager to put others at ease. She especially loved children and animals. She enjoyed visiting Pet Smart every weekend to see the kittens and puppies up for adoption.
The family would like to thank the staff of Clover Hill Senior Living for the care and compassion they showed Suzi in her final years. She would hug and tell each of them that she is “Peachy Keen” now that she is fully healed.
