Richard Terrence Arbogast

Richard Terrence (Terry) Arbogast, a resident of Sevierville TN., passed quietly in Knoxville, TN.. He was born to Ray D. Arbogast and Virginia M. Arbogast on August 7, 1937 in Freeport, Illinois. Terry held a PhD in Entomology and a Masters Degree in Computer Science.

Terry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose gentile ways and generous heart touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Terry is survived by his four children — James Raymond Arbogast, Kimberly Ann Arbogast Jameson (Jesse), Timothy Scott Arbogast, and Stephanie Ann Arbogast Coning-Smith (Randy), 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren all of whom brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by two nephews, Marty Wick and Brad Wick.

His kindness extended far beyond his home and everyone who knew him knew of his love of his family, butterflies, insects, animals, research, and travel. His legacy of compassion, warmth, and quiet strength will continue to shine through all those who loved him.

He will be interned at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Freeport, Illinois, where he will reside with his wife, HelenDee Fortney Arbogast. By his request, the family will not hold a service.
