Mike L Higgins

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Zelpha (Allen) Higgins, and brother-in-law Benjamin Johnson. Mike is survived by his two sons, Andrew (Ashley) Higgins and Travis (Shelby) Higgins, eight grandchildren: Layton, Hayden, Hudson, Lyle, AJ, Jace, Haxton, and Hartley, one brother, Dr. Terry (Dr. Carla) Higgins, and sister, Judy Johnson.

Mike was a 1972 graduate of Sidney High School where he was a proud member of the All Boy Band. After graduation, he was employed at United Telephone for 43 years. He was a member of the Sons of American Legion, Post 217, Sidney.

After retirement he enjoyed spending time at his Lake House on Norris Lake. He was well known for his chef abilities, no one left his house hungry. He especially loved serving his annual “Infamous” Shrimp Boil to over 40 friends and family. He was an avid golfer, card player, and loved spending time with his family and friends at the lake (but ONLY if they brought their work boots!). He played baseball, softball, and served as a coach for little league. He loved watching football and was a loyal fan of THE Ohio State University and the Cleveland Browns.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 2-5 p.m. at the Sidney Veterans Center, Home of the American Legion Post 217 and VFW 4239, 1265 4th Avenue, Sidney, OH 45365.
