John Jules Ballatin

John Jules “Johnny” Ballatin, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2023 at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his father, John A. Ballatin, and mother, Shirley Carubba Ballatin. He is the beloved husband of Lauren Barrois Ballatin. Father of Robin Ballatin Orestad (James); Stepfather of Nicole Gautreaux Blount (Robert) and Heather Gautreaux Lee (Robert); grandfather of Justin Ballatin, step-grandfather of Robert Euris "Trè" Lee III, and Ari Nicole Lee. A native of New Orleans and resident of Vonore, TN for the past 18 years. Graduated from LSU (Geaux Tigers!), Johnny served in executive management in the New Orleans Branch of the Federal Reserve and several regional banks in Louisiana. Johnny’s lifelong passion was the sport of Sailboat racing, in which he won many trophies and awards. He was an active member of New Orleans Yacht Club and Concord Yacht Club in Knoxville, where he held Board positions (Commodore and 1st Vice Commodore); organized 2 major Tennessee Valley Challenge Cup regattas; volunteered for numerous club projects and training classes. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. In honor of Johnny’s wishes, there will be no services.
