Edward Franklin Ross

Ed was born April 13, 1939 in Smithshire, Illinois, the son of Robert Vernon Ross and Margaret C. Rosenbalm Ross. He graduated Monmouth High School in Monmouth, Illinois. He married Marjorie (Marj) Horn on February 5, 1961.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Marj Ross, children Mark Ross of Murfreesboro, TN and Anne Jones (Paul Twomey) of Ringgold, GA: one grandchild, Emilee Jones (Tanner Huckstep) of Chattanooga, TN and several nieces and nephews.

He served in the U.S. Navy. After his military service, Ed worked most of his career with Formfit Rogers before final retirement with Lion Apparel.

He often made trips back to Illinois to visit with his extended family. He loved playing cards and games with family and friends. Ed grew up on a farm and never lost his love for gardening. He loved the outdoors including fishing and pheasant hunting

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Doris Wasson, Carol Guilinger, Millie Galusha, Robert Ross, James “Chester” Ross and Bill Ross and son-in-law, Ransom Jones.

His final resting place will be at The Chattanooga National Cemetery.
