

Sharen was born on February 18, 1952, in Prosser, Washington, to Bud and Ida Phipps. She was the youngest of three children. Her older brothers are Daniel Lee Phipps of Walla Walla, Washington, and Thomas Ellis Phipps of Litchfield Park, Arizona. She was lovingly known as "Sis" to her brothers and was a very special part of their lives.
Sharen attended Prosser High School, where she was active in sports and was a proud Mustang cheerleader. After high school, she raised her family and later worked in banking before beginning a career in the grocery business.
Sharen is survived by her son, Steven Sloan; her grandson, Clint Sloan; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Sloan.
Sharen was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family deeply. She was known for her caring heart and the unconditional love she gave to her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Sharen will be laid to rest at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, Washington, on Saturday, August 1, 2026. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Airfield Estates Winery in Prosser, Washington. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
