

Judith A. Barton born June 23, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan to June and John Barton. She passed away in Yakima, WA on May 31, 2026 surrounded by family and friends.. Judy is survived by sisters Janet and Jacqueline and brother John, all of Michigan. And numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by partner of over 50 years, Marci Snyder.
Judy attended schools in Dearborn, Michigan and graduated from college in 1971. After college she moved to Seattle and than to Yakima. She worked at Lewis and Clark Junior High and the Yakima Educational School District 105 (ESD 105). She obtained a Masters in Education from Heritage College in 1992.
She was very active in bowling, golf, slow-pitch softball, skiing and camping before being stricken by Multiple Sclerosis, with a 40- year long battle.
She competed with her Golden Retrievers and won many dog competitions. Once she was unable to show the dogs in the ring, she taught Marci how to continue with the dogs, watching from the sidelines.
As the MS progressed she became a huge Harry Potter and Star Wars fan. She enjoyed multiple trips to Disneyland and Disney World.
She will be greatly missed by many for her smile and sense of humor.
