Born in Waterloo, Iowa, the only child of John and Evelyn Krueger, Don grew up working on the family farm, where he learned to work hard without complaining. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1966 as a missile man. In Ellensburg he worked as a telephone man, owned an art gallery, and served with the Ellensburg Police reserves.
He later spent 10 years as a custodian for the Moses Lake School District, where he taught Lorie the trade.
A proud Eagle since 1999, Don was Past Worthy President of the Ellensburg Aerie and later a member of Columbia Basin Eagles Aerie #2622. Don never met a stranger, and he helped the people he loved feel braver around others.
Above all, Don loved his wife. He called Lorie his "baby girl," and that love showed every day
