He is survived by his children; Timothy Hill, Gregory Hill, Benjamin Hill, and Deana Hill Sass; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Tom was a talented general contractor whose work mainly encompassed the French Quarter and surrounding area. He was also an entrepreneur; owning “Tom’s Building Supplies” located in the Bywater area during the 1980’s and later being one of the three original owners of “Johnny Whites Sports Bar” on the corner of Bourbon Street and Orleans.
Tom enjoyed socializing at many neighborhood establishments; dancing to live music with Betty, playing pool and darts with his buddies or just enjoying Happy Hour. He was a longtime member of the Downtown Irish Club and reined as their 1990 Grand Marshal.
Tom Hill lived a kaleidoscopic life. To summarize it in a simple obituary would not do his legacy justice. He leaves behind many, many good friends who he would not want to feel sorrow, but instead raise a glass to all the wonderful memories.
A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at 704 Royal St, New Orleans, LA 70116.
