Born on April 2, 1935, in Delaware, Ohio, Anne grew up on the family’s Taggart Farm, where she cultivated her love for community, dance, and adventure. As a young woman, she was active in 4H, a talented dancer, and even a model.
Anne’s lifelong connection to Louisiana began with family visits in her childhood and blossomed into a permanent residence when she moved to the state in 1956. By 1965, she had made the vibrant New Orleans area her home, later settling on the Northshore in 1990 with her beloved husband, Joseph Gascal Wilson Jr., affectionately known as Joe.
Anne retired in 1995 from her role with the Maritime Administration in New Orleans. Post-retirement, she devoted herself passionately to volunteering at the St. Tammany Art Association, where she wore many hats—serving on the Board of Advisors, as President, Treasurer, and ultimately as the warm and welcoming greeter for art patrons. Her dedication and love for the arts left an enduring legacy within the community.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband Joe, with whom she shared 17 years of loving marriage until his passing in 2005. She carried his light in her heart for the rest of her days. Also preceding her were her mother Helen Yeatman, father Eugene Knapp Taggart, and brother John "Jack" Yeatman Taggart.
She is survived by her three children, who cherished and honored her: Linda Weinmunson (husband Eric), David Green (wife Holli Howard), and Stacy Driscoll (husband Elton). She is also lovingly remembered by Joe’s son Dave Wilson (wife Suzi). Anne’s nurturing spirit extended far beyond her immediate family, embracing numerous individuals who fondly called her "Mom" or "Nonie," her chosen name as a grandmother.
"Her legacy is further carried on by her grandchildren Adam Zeller, Abby Haas (husband Robert), Matthew Green (wife Sarah), Jacqui Udstad (husband Nick), Haanah Green and Landon Harwood; as well as her great-grandchildren Ariana Zeller and Loren Udstad. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces Hilary Giffin (husband Dan) and Cassie Taggart."
Anne’s impressive educational journey included studies at Frank B. Willis High School and Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio, and later at the University of Holy Cross and Soule Business College in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The memorial service to honor Anne's life will be held at St. Anthony's Gardens, 601 Holy Trinity Dr., Covington, LA, on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Tammany Art Association, 320 N Columbia St., Covington, LA 70443, and/or to the American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org, honoring Anne’s lifelong love for the arts and her indomitable spirit of generosity.
Anne’s life was one defined by love, service, and an unwavering connection to those around her. She will be profoundly missed and forever cherished by her family, friends, and community.
