Violet Espinache Caimi

Violet Espinache Caimi passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Metairie Health Care Center in Metairie, LA. Loving mother of Scarlett K. Bosco (husband, Joseph), Don “Eldon” Paul M. Shannon, and Lesley Gambino (husband, Sonny). Grandmother of John Bosco, Vicki Corken, Vincent Bosco, John Gambino, and Gabrielle Gambino. Great-grandmother of Michael Bosco and Melissa Bosco. Daughter of the late Joseph Espinache and Marie Arroyo Espinache. Sister of the late Luisita Schumert and Sidney Espinache. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends. Violet was an avid fan of any and all classical performing arts, especially opera, symphony, and ballet. She grew up speaking French fluently with her family, and as she got older she became fluent in Spanish as well. With a rich family history seeded in the roots of New Orleans, Violet was passionate about New Orleans history and her family ties to it. Violet was an active member and Eucharistic Minister at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. In her later years she became actively involved in Seniors’ Activity Clubs at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church, and served as president and vice president at one time. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6500 Kawanee Ave., Metairie, LA 70003, on Monday, December 26, 2016 at 11 AM.
