She was joyfully welcomed by loved ones who preceded her in death: her loving husband, Merlin A. Flot; her parents Joseph and Magnolia Condley Delacroix; her siblings Shirley D. Winnier, Joseph Delacroix, Jr., Gloria Delacroix, and Sylvia D. Martin; her grandson, Errol LeSassier, Jr., and other family members.
Joyce is survived by her loving and dedicated children, Cassandra Flot LeSassier (Errol, Sr.), Angela Flot Prudhomme, Marlon Flot (Pam) and Rebecca Flot-Bell (Warren, Jr.). She was also blessed with 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
She lived a simple, but fulfilling life, with her family as her lifelong focus. In addition to her own children, “Aunt Joyce” was loved, revered and attended to by her many nieces, nephews and godchildren, often serving as a mother figure to those who had lost their own mothers much too soon. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Thank you to the staff of Hospice Specialists of Louisiana and their nurses and aides who provided her with truly compassionate care, to Marilyn Harper for providing such attentive home care to Joyce, and to her children and extended family members who visited faithfully and cared for her lovingly until the end of her life.
