Terrence Gerard Miranda

Terrence Gerard Miranda departed this life peacefully on Sunday December 4th, at the age of ­­­69, in the company of his close family. He was a lifelong resident of New Orleans (Lakeview). Terry was preceded in death by his father, Owen Joseph Miranda and sister, Marcia (Sissy) Sketchler. Terry is survived by his mother, Marcia Borne Miranda, brothers Mark (Liz), Kevin, and Dennis (Cynthia), and sister Melanie Miranda. He is also survived by nieces Katie Roman (Craig), Abbie Fiorella (Josh), and Marci Sketchler, nephews Mark Miranda Jr., Owen Sketchler (Erin), and Jake Miranda. Terry was the godfather of Nick Sagona III. Terry was a true New Orleanian who loved and experienced the city for its rich history and his Irish heritage. What stands out about Terry is his devotion – to his neighborhood, friends and family as he’d travel on his bike throughout the area. Terry showed his true colors after Hurricane Katrina by helping neighbors and family restore their homes, lives and hearts. He will be missed by many. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a gathering to celebrate Terry on Saturday, December 17th from 9:00am – 11:00am at the Knights of Columbus, 6254 Vicksburg St. in Lakeview.
