Steve graduated from Brother Martin High School in 1970 and attended the University of New Orleans. He worked as a Field Engineer for Thyssenkrupp Elevator prior to retirement.
He is preceded in death by his, parents Georgiana "Peggy" Dorsey and Millard Dorsey.
He is survived by his sister, Judith Ricca; daughter, Nicole Dorsey; and grandsons Eoghan and Reni McEntee.
Steve was an avid reader and knew a little something about everything; from football to quantum mechanics. With a passion for travel, Steve’s wanderlust was inspiring and contagious. He loved exploring Europe and was lucky to venture to many faraway places through his work, but his favorite place was at home in New Orleans where he was surrounded by familiarity, memories, friends and of course food.
Steve was a wonderful dad and Papa. He adored his grandsons and enjoyed travelling to NYC to hang out with them. He loved keeping up with their day to day but always had a good laugh at their antics. Dad was also a supportive, loving and encouraging father.
Steve will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
The family would like to thank Passages Hospice and Peristyles Residences for the care and compassion they showed Steve in his final days. They would also like to thank his friends Glenn Menish and Charlotte Barbazon for their care, support, and dedication.
Steve's life was celebrated privately by his immediate family.
