Roy Donald Tullier of Terrytown, Louisiana passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his side on Friday, January 10, 2025, at the age of 80. He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on March 15, 1944.
Roy joined the Air Force after high school, where he completed the Air Policeman course at Lackland AFB in Texas in 1963. He then served at Offutt Air Force Base in Sarpy County, Nebraska and was honorably discharged in 1967. He then went on to study criminology and engineering at Loyola University.
Roy had a successful career that began as a deputy for the New Orleans Police Department, he then moved on to work as an engineer for Southern Pacific Railroad for 20 years, when he left, he joined the Jefferson Parish Police Department where he was recognized for his service and dedication by Sheriff Harry Lee. After leaving the sheriff’s office he spent 23 years working as an inspector for the Federal Railroad Administration where he retired in 2011.
Roy’s hobbies included bodybuilding, which included holding many titles as Mr. Nebraska, Mr. Oklahoma, and Mr. Louisiana. He was a member of the Lions Club, The National Rifle Association. He enjoyed attending the Renaissance Festivals with his grandchildren. He loved riding his Harley’s and had a special place in his heart for Wolves. He had a dog “Dani” whom he adored that was a hybrid wolf that passed away. Roy left behind his dog Max that is 5 years old, who was rescued that will be loved and cared for by his granddaughter Julianna in Florida.
Roy is survived by his 5 children; Nicole C. Mazie (Walter J Mazie) of Inverness, FL, Roy R. Tullier of Terrytown, LA, Jason J. Tullier (Monica Tullier) of Marrero, LA, Alise R. Tullier of Pensacola, FL, and Erin AnnMarie Tullier of Terrytown, LA; 12 grandchildren; Taylor Fletcher of Aspen, CO, Julianna Mazie of Inverness, FL, Sierra Cadwell of Magnolia, TX, Joshua Tullier of Marrero, LA, Destiny Tullier of Ponchatoula, LA, Jaden Folse of Marrero, LA, Javier Quintana of USAF Kunsan AFB Korea, Pedro Quintana of Pensacola, FL, Gisselle Quintana of Pensacola, FL, Mirsaedez Tullier of Terrytown, LA, Kamron Tullier of Westwego, LA, and Alaina Tullier of Westwego, LA; 3 great-grandchildren; Emmett Cadwell of Magnolia, TX, Sonora Quintana of Pensacola, FL, and Phoenix Quey of Terrytown, LA; and sister; Patricia Mangano of Houston, TX.
Our father was the most selfless person; he helped so many people that he met and would always ask if you needed anything.
The family would like to thank Hope Falcon “niece” for her love and compassion she dedicated to Roy in the last few months.
Family and friends are invited to attend the spreading of his ashes on his birthday in Hammond, LA, where he will be joining his mother Alise Stevens Martin. Time and place to be announced.
